Little Bear Day Care, Inc. - Where Your Little Bear's Adventure in Learning Begins

My name is Tracie, and I am the Lead Teacher working with the two and three year olds. I have over ten years of experience with this age group, three of which have been at Little Bear. I took child care courses while I was in high school and have completed the Apprenticeship for Child Development Specialist, ACDS, as well as the West Virginia Infant and Toddler (WVIT) Professional Development Program, Components of Quality Care and Education (CQCE) program, and am qualified in Medication Administration. I continue to take annual trainings in various areas such as literacy, music, math and science activities for young children, and physical education activities. I am very interested in teaching sign language to young children so that they can communicate without frustration until their language skills are developed.
I currently reside with my husband in PA and look forward to working with your child.

Hi!  My name is Ashley.  I have lived in Preston County my whole life and graduated on the Principals Honor Roll from Preston High School in 2007.   I then attended Fairmont State University beginning in 2007 in the Laboratory Assistant program.  While attending school, I started working at Little Bear in Oct. 2007.  I work with the two and three year olds, but fill in where I am needed with other age groups.  I graduated as a Laboratory Assistant in 2009.  Currently, I am a full-time student in the Advanced Respiratory Therapy program at Fairmont State University.  I expect to graduate in December 2010 as a respiratory therapist.   In my spare time, I enjoy doing anything related to the area of fine arts.  Drawing is one of my favorite pastimes, and I have contributed some artwork to help decorate our center.  I am registered on the STARS Career Pathway and enjoy helping Miss Tracie in the Koala Room.

My name is Jana, and I am 18 years old, and a 2009 graduate of Preston High. While in high school, I was very active in 4-H and have appreciated the values they have instilled in me.
I feel that I have applied them to both my personal and professional life. I have lived in Preston County my whole life. I worked at Little Bear while in high school during the summer and have been back at Little Bear since August 2009. I mainly work with the two and three year olds, but help out in all of the classrooms.
I am registered on the STARS Career Pathway and have taken numerous classes including, Prenatal Drug Exposure, Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention, and Childhood Nutrition. I would like to continue to learn all that I can and look forward to contributing this knowledge in the classrooms.
